Spring Break 2007

The kids look for shells on Anna Maria Island before dinner at the Sandbar.
The kids spent more time in the pool than out!

We played quite a bit of golf on Spring Break with Dad. We played in a scramble with Dad's weekly group at The Links and won the event. Jack won closest to the pin on one of the Par 3's. We also played in a cancer fund raising tournament at The Links held in honor of one on of their former members. No individual winners here but Sam did shoot an 84 from the Red Tees.

One piece, two piece, three piece, FORE!

Jack's initial research lead him to conversations with Ron Gring, PGA Professional, Gring Golf (www.gringgolf.com) in Daphne, Alabama. Mr. Gring talked with Jack about the fact that a golf ball will react differently when different force is applied. Jack eventually tested his golf balls at two different swing speeds. In the end, his project won a first place medal in his school science fair and a second place medal in the regional science fair where, as a fifth grader, he competed against sixth, seventh, and eighth graders. Thanks to Mr. Gring for all his help and advice.
